Peter Kellogg is a businessman and philanthropist who has a net worth of $3.3 billion dollars which makes him one of the richest people in New Jersey. He completed high school at the Berkshire School in Massachusetts, but subsequently dropped out of Babson College. As a young adult, he began working for Dominick & Dominick, a financial services company founded in the 1870s. After leaving Dominick & Dominick he was hired by his father’s firm. His father, James Crane Kellogg, Jr., was a successful investment banker, and co-owner of Spear, Leeds, & Kellogg, a multinational investment firm. He took over as head of his father’s business in the early 70s, and turned it into one of the most successful investment firms in the United States. In 2000, he sold a portion of the firm to Goldman Sachs for $6.5 billion and then purchased IAT, a re-insurance company that focuses on contractors and commercial properties. He is also the primary source of funding for a ski school in Vail, Colorado.
