Dianne Wiest is an American actress who has a net worth of $500 thousand. Dianne Wiest is best known for her on-screen and stage work, for which she has won multiple Academy, Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri in March of 1948, Wiest studied theater in high school (having changed her original focus from ballet), and earned a bachelor’s degree in arts and sciences from the University of Maryland. She graduated in 1969. During college she also trained with a Shakespeare troupe, expanding her efforts on stage and eventually venturing into musicals. Then in the early 70s she began appearing on Broadway, in which she acted and stared in multiple shows.

In 1980 she made her on-screen debut in the film, It’s My Turn, before taking on multiple other roles. She received her first nomination in 1983 for her work in Independence Day. Though she did not win until 1986, for which she won multiple awards for Hannah and Her Sisters. Wiest is in a long-term relationship with talent agent, Sam Cohn, with whom she has been dating for multiple years. She also has two adopted daughters, Emily, born in 1987, and Lily, born in 1991.

In January 2015, Dianne revealed that she was facing severe financial troubles. She told the New York Times that she is unable to afford her $5,300 per month rent at her Manhattan apartment and was on the verge of being forced to move out.
