W. Brett Wilson is a Canadian entrepreneur and philanthropist who has a net worth of $300 million. Born July 1, 1957 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, W. Brett Wilson is best known as a three-season panelist on CBC’s Dragons’ Den, a Canadian reality television show based on the internationally franchised Dragons’ Den.

Wilson graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a B.S. in Civil Engineering and worked for Imperial Oil in Western Canada for three years. He later graduated from the University of Calvary with an MBA in entrepreneurship and went to work as an investment banker with McLeod Young Weir Limited. In 1991, he founded an investment banking advisory firm called Wilson Mackie & Co. and in 1993 co-founded FirstEnergy Capital Corp. with Rick Grafton, Jim Davidson and N. Murray Edwards.
