He was recruited by Tennessee and North Carolina, but chose to play college football at Florida State University. Tony Carter redshirted his freshman year in 2004, and made his debut at cornerback for the Seminoles in 2005, starting all 13 games that season. Tony Carter missed two games with an injury in 2006, then went on to start in the final 11 game of that season. As a junior and senior, Tony Carter started all 13 games of each season ending his collegiate career with a 33-game starting streak. Tony Carter went undrafted during the 2009 NFL Draft and signed with the Denver Broncos shortly afterwards. He played for the Denver Broncos from 2009-2010, the New England Patriots in 2010, the Minnesota Vikings in 2011, and he’s been back with the Denver Broncos since 2011.
