Thomas Struengmann is a German businessman and entrepreneur who has a net worth of $3.2 billion. Thomas Struengmann was born in Germany in 1950. Thomas and his twin brother Andreas founded the general drug company Hexal AG in 1986 and built it up to become Germany’s 2nd largest generic drug producer.

Andreas and Thomas sold Hexal and their 67.7% share of U.S. Eon Labs to Novartis for $7.5 billion. Since the sale the brothers have been investing in biotechnology and health companies which include a private bank Sudwestbank. They established a neuroscience research center in Frankfurt in 2008 named after their father Ernst Struengmann. Thomas graduated from the University of Augsburg and worked as a marketing manager for the US pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough. He lives in Tegernsee, Germany and is married with four children.
