Thomas Straumann Net Worth, Career, Biography, Facts, Age, Life Story

Thomas Straumann is a Swiss businessman who has a net worth of $1.1 billion. Thomas Straumann inherited the vast of his fortune from his grandfather Reinhard Straumann, who founded an alloy institute in 1954. In 1989, the company spread its operations in the States, and by 1998, it went public.

Reinhard invented metals that are used as components in watch making, whereas his father, Fritz, was a pioneer in dental implants. Thomas served as Chairman for years of his father’s Straumann Holding, the world’s biggest producer of dental implants. But having retired more than a decade ago, he decided to sell bulk of his shares in November 2012. It was maybe too early, as the stock of the company has climbed steadily since May 2013, enough for him to get back to the billionaire ranks after one year absence. Aside from the above, Thomas Straumann set up and has been chairing implant maker Medartis, and he owns Swiss luxury hotels Hotel Les Trois Roi and Grand Hotel Bellevue, as well as a stable of race horses. His daughter Flaminia is a champion rider, and hopefully will represent Switzerland in the Rio Olympics in 2016.
