Steve Pagliuca is an American private equity investor and businessman who has a net worth of $450 million dollars. Steve Pagliuca was born in Framingham, Massachusetts, and went on to earn his undergraduate degree from Duke University. He then earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. He began his professional life as an accountant overseas.

He worked for Peat Marwick Mitchell & Company in the Netherlands as a Senior Accountant and International Tax Specialist. From there, he moved to working for Bain & Company, and then Bain Capital, in the late 80s. He has remained a managing partner of Bain Capital since then. In 2003, he joined a consortium known as the Boston Basketball Partners LLC. The group of businessman purchased the Boston Celtics for $360 million. In 2009, he ran as a candidate in a special election in Massachusetts. He was trying to take over the U.S. Senate position left vacant by Ted Kennedy. He came in fourth of four candidates in the primary election.
