Steve Clifford is an American professional basketball coach who has a net worth of $4 million. Steve Clifford was born in Lincoln, Maine in May 1961. Steve played basketball for North Country Union High School and the University of Maine at Farmington. He graduated with a degree in special education and started teaching at Woodland High School where he was also head coach of the basketball team from 1983 to 1985.

From 1985 to 1989 Clifford was an assistant coach for Saint Anselm College. He was an assistant at Fairfield University from 1989 to 1990, Boston University from 1990 to 1994, and Siena College from 1994 to 1995. Clifford got his first college head coaching job with Adelphi University from 1995 to 1999. From 1999 to 2000 he was an assistant at East Carolina University. He then went to the NBA first becoming an advance scout for the New York Knicks from 2000 to 2001 and then an assistant coach for the team from 2001 to 2003. Clifford was an assistant coach for the Houston Rockets from 2003 to 2007, the Orlando Magic from 2007 to 2012, and the Los Angeles Lakers from 2012 to 2013. In 2013 he became head coach of the Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets. In his first year with Charlotte Clifford led the team to the playoffs and a record of 43 – 39.
