Born Samari Toure Rolle on August 10, 1976 in Miami, Florida, he served as cornerback in his eleven year long NFL career. Rolle first displayed his football skills at Florida State University where he participated in 38 games with 24 starts, and made 12 interceptions and 111 tackles in his four-year tenure.

Eventually, he was named First-Team All-ACC and Football News Third-Team All-America. Rolle’s next step was turning pro, which happened soon after he was selected by the Tennessee Oilers in the second round of the 1998 NFL Draft. 2000 was his most successful year, as Rolle became both Pro Bowl selection and All-Pro selection. He remained with Tennessee until 2004, when he was released for salary cap reasons and finished the campaign with 28 tackles. In March 2005, Rolle signed for the Baltimore Ravens as an unrestricted free agent. It was in 2010 that Samari Rolle officially announced his retirement from the NFL, citing neck injuries as the main reason.
