Getzlaf is a center who is the captain of the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League. As a junior player he played with the Calgary Hitmen and was a two time Western Hockey League all-star.

Getzlaf has also represented Canada in international competition. He was on the 2005 World Junior Championship team that is considered the best team in Canadian history and he also won a silver medal at the 2008 IIHF World Championship. Representing Canada he won Gold medals at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympic Games. Getzlaf was drafted #19 by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 2003 and has played his entire career for Anaheim since 2005. He won a Stanley Cup Championship in 2007 with the Ducks and has played in three NHL All-Star Games. In 2014 he was selected to the NHL Second All-Star Team. Getzlaf holds Anaheim records for most assists in a single season, consecutive games with an assist, and most assists in a single game.
