Richard Scaife Net Worth, Career, Biography, Facts, Age, Life Story

Richard Scaife is an American businessman who has a net worth of $1.3 billion dollars. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Richard Scaife began college at Yale University, but was expelled before graduating. He enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh, and graduated with a degree in English in the late 50s.

A year after graduating, his father passed away unexpectedly, and he took his place on a number of corporate boards. He also became heavily involved with his family’s many philanthropic organizations. His mother passed away in 1972, leaving he and his sister in charge of the family fortune, much of which was in trust or tied up in one of their many charities. However, he and his sister became estranged a year later, and he ended up with primary control of the family foundations and funds. He started the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, a newspaper, in 1970. The publication is known for openly skewing towards the right and it has never really turned a profit. Mr. Scaife also owns a portion of the media outlet, NewsMax Media.
