Piero Solari Donaggio is a Chilean retailer who has a net worth of $3.1 billion. He earned his wealth as an heir of the Chile’s oldest and largest retail company Falabella. An Italian immigrant, Salvatore Falabella, started the first Falabella tailor shop in 1889. Several decades later, Alberto Solari, Piero’s uncle, joined the business, and prompted into expanding the shop with housewares and women’s clothing.

In 1958, Falabella was converted into a department store, and several years later, a new store was launched in Argentina. Nowadays, the family business has become a Latin powerhouse that holds over 80,000 employees in Chile, Argentina, Columbia and Peru, and also, it has declared having plans to make investments of $ 3.92 billion throughout the period from 2013 to 2017.
