Phil Edmonds is a retired English cricket player and corporate executive who has a net worth of $21 million. Phil Edmonds was born in Lusaka, Northern Rhodesia on March 8, 1951. Edmonds was a slow left arm spin bowler for Cambridge University (1971-72), Middlesex (1971-92), MCC (1974-87) and Eastern Province (1975-76).
While at Middlesex, Edmonds paired with right-arm spin bowler John Emburey to create a powerful left-arm/right-arm combination. The two also participated in international matches for England, as well. Phil Edmonds is known both on and off the field for his outspoken behavior and wild antics. In one match against India, the opposing team was taking a long time while playing–Edmonds found a copy of “The Daily Telegraph” and began reading the newspaper while standing in the field. For his career, Phil Edmonds took 125 wickets at 34.18 in 51 Test matches, and had a batting average of 17.50. Since his retirement, Edmonds has pursued a career in business. He’s the chairman of Middlesex Holdings, Middlesex County Cricket Club and White Nile Petroleum Company. He was also the former chairman of the Central African Mining & Exploration Company, and is married to author Frances Edmonds.
