He is currently the Chairman, President, and CEO of the ContiGroup Companies, a position he has held since 1997.

Formed in 1813, ContiGroup Companies, Inc (CGC) was formerly known as Continental Grain, and is a multinational corporation with offices and facilities in 10 countries while employing more than 13,500 people worldwide. He has held a variety of positions at CGC – from Merchandiser and Product Line Manager to Group President and Chief Operating Officer. Fribourg is also a director of Loews Corporation, Burger King Holdings, Inc, and Estee Lauder Companies. He gained notoriety in 2007 for a years long affair with former CNN news anchor Paula Zahn. Fribourg was a friend of Zahn’s husband. At the time of the affair, Fribourg was in the process of divorcing his wife Josabeth. He later reconciled with his wife. In 2012, Fribourg paid $27.2 million for a five bedroom, five bathroom apartment located at 998 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. Additionally, he is on the Board of Dean’s Advisors at Harvard Business School, a Trustee of the Fribourg Family Foundation, and a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Brown University Advisory Council on China, and International Business Leaders Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai.
