Nate Newton is an American retired professional football player who has a net worth of $250 thousand dollars. Nate Newton was born in Orlando, Florida in December 1961. In high school he played basketball, wrestling, and shot put in addition to football. He was a fullback but was moved to defensive line.

Newton attended Florida A&M University and played offensive and defensive line as a sophomore. He earned All-MEAC honors as a full time right tackle in his senior year. Newton was not drafted but signed as a free agent with the Washington Redskins in 1983. He was cut during training camp and injured in a serious car accident the next day. Newton joined the Tampa Bay Bandits in the United States Football League and played there from 1984 to 1985. The USFL folded and Newton signed as a free agent with the Dallas Cowboys in 1986. During his career with the Cowboys Newton was a three time Super Bowl Champion. He was selected to the Pro Bowl six times and was a two time All-Pro selection. He played his final season for the Carolina Panthers in 1999 before retiring. In 2001 Newton was arrested for having over 200 pounds of marijuana in his van. He was stopped again five weeks later and had 175 pounds. Newton was sentenced to 30 months in a federal prison. In 2010 he underwent vertical gastrectomy and lost 175 pounds. His son Nate III “Tre” played football for Carroll High School and the University of Texas. Newton’s second son King also played football, for the University of Texas at San Antonio. Nate’s brother Tim played in the NFL for nine seasons.
