Michael Crabtree was offered scholarships at Baylor, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas State, and Kansas. The University of Texas recruited him to play defense, but Michael Crabtree turned them down, telling them he wanted to score touchdowns. Michael Crabtree plated for the Red Raiders at Texas Tech University under head football coach Mike Leach for two seasons from 2006-2008. During his time at Texas Tech, Michael Crabtree was a two-time unanimous All-American and was twice named the nation’s top college wide receiver winning the Biletnikoff Award. He was all 2007 All Big-12, 2007 AP Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year, and 2007 AT&T ESPN All-America Player of the Year – the first freshman to win this award. Michael Crabtree was selected with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
