He graduated from the University of Oregon where he hoped to play baseball but the school dropped their program before he arrived. He started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Gonzaga from 1989 to 1990. Few became an assistant coach at Gonzaga from 1990 to 1999. In 1999 Mark Few became the head basketball coach at Gonzaga. He led the team to win the West Coast Conference from 2001 to 2011 and from 2013 to 2019. Few led Gonzaga to win the WCC Tournament from 2000 to 2002, 2004 to 2007, in 2009 and 2011, and from 2013 to 2018. He led the team to the NCAA Division I Regional at the Final Four in 2017. Mark Few was named AP Coach of the Year, Henry Iba Award, NABC Coach of the Year, and Naismith Coach of the Year in 2017.
