Marie Besnier Beauvalot is a French businesswoman who has a net worth of $2.9 billion. Marie, along with her two siblings, Emmanuel and Jean-Michel, inherited French diary giant Lactalis, which is considered to be the world’s largest dairy products group. Today best known for brands like the popular Président brie among hundreds of others, the business was set up as a small cheese-making company in Laval, Mayenne, France by their grandfather in the 1930s.

The three siblings have a full ownership of the company, which was once saved from bankruptcy following the infamous 2003 collapse that landed its founder in jail. The once blur financials of the company were brought to light when the Besnier family, through another holding company, bought a majority stake in the publicly traded Italian milk manufacturer Parmalat in 2011.
