Lee David Zlotoff is best known for being the creator of the television series MacGyver. He started his career as a screenwriter for the TV series Hill Street Blues and then worked as a producer for the series Remington Steele.

MacGyver ran on ABC from 1985 to 1992 and was then syndicated. Zlotoff also wrote for the TV series Bret Maverick and Murphy’s Law as well as for the films Link and The Spitfire Grille. In 2005 Zlotoff was a consulting producer for the television series NCIS. He won a Christopher Award and a Sundance Film Festival Award for The Spitfire Grille.
