Kim Beom-su is a South Korean businessman and entrepreneur who has a net worth of $2.6 billion. Kim Beom-su created the free smart phone messaging service KakaoTalk. The company purchased Internet company Daum Communications and became Daum Kakao Corp. which had a valuation on the Korean Stock Exchange of $9.5 billion.

Kim Beom-su owns nearly 40% of the company. He grew up in poverty with his family of eight living in one room. Kim Beom-su graduated from Seoul National University and then worked at Samsung. In 1998 he founded the online gaming company Hangame and merged with Naver in 2000 to form NHN. Kim Beom-su lives in Seoul, South Korea and is married with two children.
