Johnny Kemp was a Bahamian singer who had a net worth of $2 million. Johnny Kemp was born in Nassau, Bahamas in August 1959 and passed away in April 2015. He started singing in nightclubs at just 13 years old and then moved to New York to become part of the band Kinky Fox.

Kemp’s self-titled debut studio album was released in 1986. The album contained the minor hit “Just Another Lover”. His second studio album Secrets of Flying was released in 1987 and contained the hit singles “Dancin’ with Myself” and “Just Got Paid” which both reached the Top 5 on the US Billboard R&B chart and “Just Got Paid” hit #1. Kemp appeared on Keith Sweat’s Sweat Hotel Live DVD in 2007 as Sweat was originally offered the instrumental track that became “Just Got Paid” but turned it down. Kemp was scheduled to perform on the Fantastic Voyage cruise in 2015 when his body was found floating in the water in Jamaica. Johnny Kemp passed away during the week of April 16, 2015 at 55 years old.
