Born in Los Angeles, California, John Gibson graduated from the UCLA School for Film, Theater, and Television. He began working for The Hollywood Reporter in the late 60s, and then went on to work for Atlantic Records.

Throughout the late 70s, he worked for various radio and television stations, and subsequently became the Bureau Chief for KCRA, in California. He began working as a correspondent for NBC News in the early 90s, and then became the daytime anchor for MSNBC in 1996. He began hosting, “The Big Story” on the Fox News Channel in 2000, and remained with the show until its cancellation in 2008. Since then, he has been hosting his own show, “The John Gibson Show” on Fox News Radio, and has also published two books, “Hating America: The New World Sport” and “The War on Christmas”.
