Johan Santana is a Venezuelan professional baseball player who has a net worth of $70 million. Johan Alexander Santana Araque was born in Tovar, Merida State, Venezuela in March 1979. He was discovered in 1994 by a scout for the Houston Astros. Santana attended an Astros training academy.

He was drafted in the Rule 5 draft by the Florida Marlins, but the team worked out a deal with the Minnesota Twins. He debuted with the Twins in April 2000 and made his first start four days later. Santana played with the Twins from 2000 to 2007 before joining the New York Mets in 2008. He missed the entire 2011 season recovering from a shoulder surgery. He returned in 2012 but missed the entire 2013 season from another shoulder surgery. The Mets bought out his option for 2014 and paid him $5.5 million. He was signed by the Baltimore Orioles but ended up tearing his Achilles tendon and will miss the entire 2014 season. He has won the Cy Young Award twice and in 2006 he earned the pitching triple crown. Santana threw the New York Mets’ first no-hitter in 2012. He is a four time all All-Star and won a Gold Glove in 2007.
