Jim Ross is a retired American wrestling commentator, referee, and restaurateur, who has a net worth of $4 million dollars. Jim Ross was born in Fort Bragg, California. He excelled at sports in high school, winning numerous sports-related honors in basketball, baseball and football. He began working in sports broadcasting during college, and by the mid-70s, he was providing color commentary for the National Wrestling Alliance, which later became the World Wrestling Championship.

From the early 90s through the early 2000s, he served as a commentator, host, and announcer for the World Wrestling Federation. He then continued these roles with Raw from 2002-2008, and Smackdown from 2008 to 2010. He also wrestled sporadically, and was often featured in various story lines as either the friend or foe of particular wrestlers. He also suffered from Bell’s Palsy, and would often take on a more executive, behind-the-scenes role during episodes. He retired on September 11, 2013, to focus on personal business ventures.
