Jerry Greenfield is an American businessman and entrepreneur who has a net worth of $150 million. Jerry Greenfield was born in Brooklyn, New York in March 1951. Greenfield is best known for being the co-founder of the ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s. Jerry studied pre-med but was unable to get into medical school.

He decided to go into the food business with his old friend Ben Cohen and the pair opened Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Ice Cream Parlor in Burlington, Vermont. Their style of ice cream was partially developed to compensate for Cohen’s anosmia which is a loss of smell and near-loss of taste. Since opening their first shop Ben & Jerry’s has opened nearly 200 franchised shops and has earnings of $237 million annually. They started Ben & Jerry’s with $8,000 and a $4,000 bank loan. Ben & Jerry’s was bought by the food giant Unilever in 2000 for $325 million.
