Ingrid Betancourt is a Colombian politician who has a net worth of $500 thousand dollars. Ingrid Betancourt Pulecio was born in Bogota, D.C, Columbia, in December 1961. Her parents both served in government. Ingrid attended the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and Harris Manchester College, Oxford.

She married Fabrice Delloye in 1983 and became a French citizen. The couple had two children but divorced. Betancourt became advisor to the Minister of Finance and to the Minister of Foreign Trade. She was elected to the House of Representatives in 1994 and joined the Colombian Senate in 1998. Betancourt was a presidential candidate as a member of the Oxygen Green Party for the 2012 election. During her campaigning Ingrid was kidnapped in 2002 by the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. She was rescued in 2008 by Colombian security forces during Operation Jaque which rescued another 14 hostages. Ingrid received the Legion d’honneur award and the Concord Prince of Asturias Award. Betancourt requested a monetary compensation under the provision of Colombian victim of terrorism protection law in 2010 but she withdrew her claim. She was married to Juan Carlos Lecompte from 1997 to 2011.
