Gunnar Hansen was an Icelandic American actor and author who had a net worth of $5 million. Gunnar Hansen was born in Reykjavik, Iceland in March 1947 and passed away in November 2015. His best known role came starring as Leatherface in the 1947 film The Texas Chain Saw Massacre which was his debut acting role.

Hansen went on to star in mostly horror films including in the movies Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers, Campfire Tales, Mosquito, Hatred of a Minute, Murder-Set-Pieces, Swarm of the Snakehead, Reykjavik Whale Watching Massacre, and Texas Chainsaw 3D. In 2008 he won an Eyegore Award. Hansen graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and tried out for Leatherface in an open audition. He authored books including Islands at the Edge of Time, A Journey to America’s Barrier Islands and Chain Saw Confidential. Gunnar Hansen passed away on November 7, 2015 at 68 years old from pancreatic cancer.
