Gong Li is a Chinese actress who has a net worth of $100 million. Gong Li was born in Shenyang, China in December 1965. She is the youngest of five children. Li was denied entrance to China’s top music school but graduated from the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing.
While studying there she was discovered by director Zhang Yimou. She made her acting debut in Yimou’s directorial debut of the film Red Sorghum in 1987. Li has won the Cannes Film Festival Trophy, two Golden Phoenix Awards, two Golden Rooster Awards, and three Hundred Flower Awards. Li was voted the most beautiful woman in China in 2006. Gong Li has also served as a spokeswoman for Shanghai Tang clothing. Gong was previously married to tobacco tycoon Ooi Hoe Seong.
