He studied dramatic art at the University Center of Theater of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He was part of the dance group Integro of Peru and acted in diverse theater festivals until 1996.

Taracena was also a part of the theatrical group Theater Myth. His debut film role came in the 1994 movie La hija del Puma. Taracena starred as El Mandril in the television series El Pantera from 2007 to 2008. In 2009 he starred as Vicente in the TV series Los simuladores.
