Frank Cady was an American actor who had a net worth of $1.5 million. Cady was born in Susanville, California in 1915. In high school, Cady worked at a local newspaper, The Lassen County Advocate. He studied journalism and drama at the University of Stanford after high school.

While at the prestigious university, he was involved with the camp humor magazine, the Stanford Chaparral. He went on to complete a Westminster Theater apprenticeship in London, England. Cady made an early television appearance on the BBC in late 1938. After completing some graduate coursework at the University of Stanford, and marrying his wife, Shirley, Cady became dissatisfied with academia. He left to work as an announcer and news broadcaster at various California radio stations. Cady put his career on hold in 1943, however, to fight for the Unite States Army Air Corps during World War II. In his movie career, Cady worked with a number of prominent directors. He appeared in a non-speaking role in Hitchcock’s Rear Window. He also appeared in The Asphalt Jungle and When World’s Collide. He is most famous for his role of storekeeper Sam Drucker in American television series including Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, and The Beverly Hillbillies.
