Frank Beamer is an American college football coach and former player who has a net worth of $10 million. Frank Beamer was born in Mount Airy, North Carolina in October 1946. Beamer was a cornerback who played for Virginia Tech. He got into coaching as a graduate assistant at Maryland in 1972.

Beamer then coached for The Citadel, where he was a defensive line coach from 1973 to 1976 and the defensive coordinator from 1977 to 1978. He then coached at Murray State as defensive coordinator from 1979 to 1980. Beamer got his first head coaching job at Murray State from 1981 to 1986. Since 1987 he has been the head football coach at Virginia Tech. Beamer has won an OVC Championship, three Big East Championships, four ACC Championships, and five ACC Coastal Division Championships. He has won many awards including the Associated Press Coach of the Year, the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award, the Paul “Bear” Bryant Award, the Walter Camp Coach of the Year Award, the Joseph V. Paterno Coach of the Year Award, the Big East Coach of the Year, and the ACC Coach of the Year. Beamer is the longest tenured and winningest active coach in NCAA Division I FBS.
