Evan Tanner was an American mixed martial arts fighter who had a net worth of $400 thousand. Evan Tanner was born in Amarillo, Texas in February 1971 and passed away in September 2008. Tanner was the first American to win the Pancrase Neo-Blood tournament in Tokyo. He held the UFC Middleweight Championship and won his first championship after defeating Heath Herring at USWF 7.

He would later defeat David Terrell to win the UFC Middleweight Championship at UFC 51. Tanner made his professional MMA debut defeating Mike Kennedy in April 1997. He lost to Tito Ortiz for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in February 2001. After beating Terrell for the Middleweight Championship, he lost the belt in his next fight after the doctor stopped his fight against Rich Franklin. Tanner took a dirt bike into the desert and planned on camping. His bike ran out of gas and temperatures in the desert were at 118 degrees. Evan Tanner’s body was discovered by a Marine helicopter and he passed away on September 5, 2008 at 37 years old.
