Don Schumacher is an American racing team owner who has a net worth of $300 million. Don Schumacher began drag racing in the early 60s, and quickly made a name for himself with his great pit crew and an excellent team that he oversaw very carefully. After eleven years in the drag racing world, he left it behind to run his father’s business, Schumacher Electric, in Chicago.
He grew the company from 400 employees to nearly 2000, and it is now the largest manufacturer of chargers in the world. In the mid-90s, he returned to the racing circuit, but this time as an owner. His son, Tony Schumacher, was proving to be an excellent racer, and the team was formed around him. Don Schumacher now oversees Don Schumacher Racing, and his team has become a formidable presence on the racetrack. In 2012, his two teams captured 22 NHRA national event titles. On May 2nd, 2013, he was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame.
