Dominique Dawes Net Worth, Career, Biography, Facts, Age, Life Story

Dominique Dawes is an American artistic gymnast who has a net worth of $2.5 million dollars. Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, Dominque Dawes began practicing gymnastics when she was six, and by the time she was ten, was already competing at the Junior Elite level with coach Kelli Hill.

In 1990, she won her first national medal, achieving third at the US National Championships. Throughout the early 90s, her reputation for excellence spread, and in 1992 she received a standing ovation and a perfect 10 for a floor routine that many gymnastic insiders still consider one of the best ever performed. She helped the US gymnastics team to a Bronze Medal in the All-Around at the 1992 Olympics. She was intermittently successful throughout the next four years, but 1996 would prove to be a banner year. Team USA won Gold in the All-Around, and Ms. Dawes became the first black female from any country to win a Gold Medal in gymnastics. She also won an individual Bronze Medal for her floor routine. Since retiring from competition, she has served as the President of the Women’s Sport Federation, and as a commentator for multiple gymnastics events, including the London 2012 Olympics.
