Daniel Pritzker is an American film maker and musician who has a net worth of $2.2 billion. Born in 1959, he is the grandson of Abram Nicholas Pritzker, the Hyatt hotel chain founder. He currently lives in Kentfield, California with his wife Karen, and both are currently trustees of the Jay Pritzker Foundation, which is a charitable fund that sponsors the prestigious annual Pritzker Architectural prize, among other things.

Daniel Pritzker graduated from Tufts University in 1981 and went on to earn Juris Doctor from the Law School of Northwestern University in 1986. The Pritzker family scion went on to found the Chicage based band, Sonia Dada, in which he also serves as a song writer and guitarist. The band began by performing in subway stations in 1990. Daniel is an ardent jazz lover who released a silent biopic depicting the life and times of jazz maestrc Louis Armstrong. Bolden, is his next jazz-infused movie currently in the works. This film is an ode to Buddy Bolden, a long-time ragtime innovator that lived in New Orleans. Daniel and his wife Karen have 5 children and are members of the Jewish Faith. Daniel is also a prominent donor to his alma mater Tufts University as well as Chicago’s Saint Mel High School. He established the Jay Pritzker Academy in Cambodia’s Ta Chet area. Until 2008, Daniel and his family held the controlling shares industrial conglomerate Marmon, which they eventually sold for $4.8 billion to Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway.
