She became the first woman to represent club ownership in a major professional sports league and the first woman to be chairman of an NFL charitable institution. Anderson formerly served as Chief of Staff for U.S. Representative Tommy F. Robinson of Arkansas from 1989 to 1990. The USA Today named her the 89th most important person in the NFL in 2016.
