Chad Dawson is an American professional boxer who has a net worth of $4 million dollars. Born in Hartsville, South Carolina, Chad Dawson grew up in New Haven, Connecticut. After graduating from James Hillhouse High School, he won 58 of his 71 won amateur boxing fights, an under-19 championship, and finished second in the world championships in 2001.
He subsequently went pro and fought in the middleweight and super middleweight divisions successfully, until he failed a drug test for marijuana in 2004. After taking some time away, he returned to fight in the light heavyweight division and became the new champion. He won the WBC light heavyweight championship in 2007 and defended it successfully for much of the next year. In 2008, he became the IBF and IBO light heavyweight champion. In October 2011, he became the WBC and The Ring Light Heavyweight Champion. He has won 34 of his 41 career fights, 19 by knockout.
