Butch Taylor is an American composer, writer, and keyboardist who has a net worth of $5 million. Butch Taylor was born in Shawville, Virginia in April 1961. He is known for being a guest musician with Dave Matthews Band. From 1998 to 2008 he was a permanent member of the band and previously played in the band Secrets with member of the Dave Matthews Band Carter Beauford as well as Tim Reynolds.
Taylor met Dave Matthews Band saxophonist LeRoi Moore at James Madison University where he played the trumpet in the JMU Jazz Ensemble. He later returned to teach at the university. Taylor has also composed many scores for film and television. He stopped playing with Dave Matthews Band in 2008 but rejoined them for a benefit concert in September 2017. He went on to join the Robert Jospe Trio and plays in Virginia with up and coming musicians.
