Butch Lewis was an American boxing promoter and manager who had a net worth of $500 thousand. Butch Lewis was born in Woodbury, New Jersey in June 1946 and passed away in July 2011. He was best known for managing the boxing brothers Leon Spinks and Michael Spinks.
Lewis managed to get Michael Spinks $13.5 million to fight Mike Tyson in 1988 when Spinks was knocked out in 91 seconds. Lewis started as a street hustler and a used car salesman. He helped guide Leon Spinks to a victory over Muhammad Ali for the heavyweight title in 1978. He founded Butch Lewis Productions and joined with IMG Worldwide to represent minority celebrates and entertainers. Butch Lewis passed away on July 23, 2011 of a massive heart attack.
