Brandon Boyd is an American musician, author, and visual artist who has a net worth of $20 million dollars. Brandon Boyd is best known as the lead vocalist of the American rock band Incubus.

Early Life: Boyd was born on February 15, 1976 in Van Nuys, California to parents Priscilla Wiseman and Charles Boyd. Due to his parents’ involvement with the entertainment industry, Boyd was exposed to music from a young age and has noted that has parents were a huge inspiration in his choice to pursue a career in music. Boyd has a younger brother, Jason Boyd, who also pursued music, becoming the leader singer of the band Audiovent.

Boyd attended Calabasas High School, from where he graduated in 1994, before attending Moorpark College for two years. He ultimately decided to leave college in order to pursue his music career.

Incubus: Boyd was one of the founding members of Incubus, along with Mike Einziger, Alex Katunich, and José Pasillas. The group originally formed the band in 1991, while all the boys were still in high school and did not start going by the name Incubus until they started playing in shows.

In 1996, Gavin Koppell was added to the band and they soon released their debut album, “Fungus Amongus” on their own label. Sony then signed the band a year later and helped them release the 1997 EP “Enjoy Incubus,” which they were able to present while touring with the band Korn throughout Europe.

In 2020, he announced plans to release another album on his own, this time focusing on covers of other songs rather than original music.

Other Pursuits: While mainly known for his musical ability, Boyd also developed a number of other artistic pursuits. He had a fondness for drawing since his youth but developed the hobby more seriously in his 20s, when he began painting as well. In 2008, his first solo art show opened in Los Angeles. Often using his painting as a means of environmental activism, he painted a large mural at the Hurley Space Gallery in 2011 that was focused on showcasing the harmful effects of single use plastics on the oceans.

In 2020, Boyd debuted a virtual exhibit online entitled “Impossible Knots,” which was originally scheduled to debut in-person at the Samuel Lynne Galleries in Dallas. Additionally, Boyd has published three books, “White Fluffy Clouds,” “The Murks of the Sultry Abyss,” and “So The Echo.” All of the books feature Boyd’s personal illustrations, lyrics, and other artistic writings.

Personal Life: Boyd has dated a number of celebrities over the last few decades, though he remains unmarried. In 1999, he was linked to actress Jo Bourne-Taylor. He later dated supermodel Carolyn Murphy from 2002 to 2006. The couple lived together with Murphy’s daughter from a previous relationship but ultimately split after a few years together. In 2008, he began dating actress Baelyn Neff. The pair lived together and remained in a relationship for over ten years before deciding to part ways.

Since then, Boyd has been linked to actress Sarah Hay, after posting a watercolor he had painted of her on his Instagram account. Hay later posted photos that Boyd had taken of her to her own account.

Real Estate: Brandon’s primary residence for many years has been Los Angeles where he owns at least two properties. In 2012 he purchased a house on a 13,000 square foot lot in Santa Monica for $3.5 million. Around the same time he listed his Venice home, which features a custom-built studio, for $2.72 million. He purchased the Venice home in 2012 for exactly the same as his selling price. In 2016 he spent $2.5 million to buy a 3,500 square foot home on 2.7 acres in the nearby hilly area of Topanga. This home also featured an 800 square foot yurt which he turned into a studio/office/guesthouse and storage facility for a large collection of crystals.
