The team of Steinberg and Kelly co-wrote the #1 hit songs “Like a Virgin” by Madonna in 1984, “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper in 1986, “Eternal Flame” by the Bangles in 1989, “So Emotional” by Whitney Houston in 1987, “Alone” by Heart in 1987, “I Drove All Night” by various artists in 1987, “I Touch Myself” by the Divinyls in 1990, “I’ll Stand By You” by The Pretenders in 1994, and “One & One” by Edyta Gorniak in 1997.

Steinberg collaborated with other songwriters after Kelly retired.
