He is a former professional bull rider, coach for WWE’s Tough Enough, and trainer for NXT. Gunn has competed under many names including Kip James, Mr. Ass, The Outlaw, and Rockabilly.

He wrestled in the WWE from 1993 to 1996 as a member of The Smoking Guns. Gunn was a member of The New Age Outlaws and D-Generation X. He later competed in TNA wrestling and on the independent circuit. Gunn started competing for New Japan Pro Wrestling in 2016. He won six WWE Tag Team Championships with Road Dogg, three with Bart Gunn, and two with Chuck.
