Ben Harper is an American singer-songwriter who has a net worth of $10 million dollars. Born in Claremont, California, Ben Harper began playing the guitar when he was in elementary school, and began to focus on slide guitar in his early teens. His family’s folk music shop, The Folk Music Center and Museum, ultimately laid the groundwork for his first professional work.

He began touring with legendary blues artist, Taj Mahal, in the late 80s. He released his first LP in 1992, and after signing with Virgin Records, his first album, “Welcome to the Cruel World”, was released in 1994. He went on to record two more albums, one of which included his backing band, The Innocent Criminals. By the early 2000s, he was immensely popular in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, and was chosen as French Rolling Stone’s Artist of the Year in 2003, but had not received the same level of recognition in the US. He performed with The Innocent Criminals throughout the mid-2000s, and discovered and performed with folk artist, Jack Johnson. In 2005, he formed the group, Relentless7, and they have since performed on various talk shows and performed at a number of festivals. He also released an album with another side project called, Fistful of Mercy. Ben was married to Joanna Harper from 1996 to 2001. He was married to actress Laura Dern from 2005 to 2013. He married his latest wife Jaclyn Matfus in 2015. He has won three Grammys.
