Amobi Okoye is a Nigerian-American professional football player who has a net worth of $8 million dollars. Amobi Okoye was born in Anambria, Nigeria in June 1987. Amobi has stated that he is not related to former NFL running back Christian Okoye. Amobi moved to the United States at 12 years old.
He started his career at Lee High School. Not knowing much about football, his coach told him to play Madden NFL to learn. As a senior Okoye won first team All-State honors playing offensive and defensive lineman. He chose to attend the University of Louisville and completed his degree in three and a half years. He first played in the NCAA at 16, becoming the youngest player in the league. In his senior season he was an Associated Press Second-Team All-American and first team All-Big East recipient. He was drafted in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans. At 19 years old Okoye was the youngest player to be drafted into the NFL. He was the youngest player to appear in an NFL game since 1967. Amobi was the Defensive Rookie of the Month in September 2007. After spending four seasons with Houston he was released in 2011. He signed with the Chicago Bears in 2011 and then went to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2012. He later re-signed with the Bears before joining the Dallas Cowboys in 2014.
