Ali Shaheed Muhammad is an American rapper, hip hop DJ, and producer who has a net worth of $6 million. Ali Shaheed Muhammad was born in Brooklyn, New York in August 1970. He is best known for being a member of the group A Tribe Called Quest.

He formed the music production collective called The Ummah and formed the R&B super group Lucy Pearl. Muhammad released his debut solo studio album Shaneedullah and Stereotypes in 2014. A Tribe Called Quest released six studio albums. Their 1993 album Midnight Marauders reached #1 on the US R&B chart. Their album Beats, Rhymes and Life was released in 1996 and reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and US R&B charts. The group has had many successful singles including “Check the Rhime” which reached #1 on the US Rap chart. Lucy Pearl released their self-titled debut studio album in 2000 featuring the single “Dance Tonight” which reached #5 on the US R&B chart. Muhammad is a co-host on the NPR show Microphone Check and also co-produced the soundtrack to the ABC television series Luke Cage in 2016.
