Sheryl Swoopes is an American basketball player who has a net worth of $200 thousand dollars. Born in Brownfield, Texas, Sheryl Swoopes began playing basketball when she was in elementary school, and went on to play successfully throughout high school. She was recruited by the University of Texas basketball program, but quickly transferred to South Plains College.

After two years at South Plains, she transferred again, finally settling at Texas Tech. While at Texas Tech, Ms. Swoopes won numerous awards, set multiple NCAA records, and won the 1993 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championships. The Houston Comets recruited her in 1997 for the first season of the WNBA. She played for the Comets from 1997 to 2007, and was a six-time WNBA All-Star, and a four-time WNBA Champion while with the team. In 2008, she signed with the Seattle Storm, but was waived soon after. She returned to WNBA play in 2011, and played one season with the Tulsa Shock. She is currently retired. She won Gold Medals at the 1996, 2000, and 2004 Olympics. Unfortunately Swoopes filed for bankruptcy in 2004, claiming over $1 million in debts.
